The beach is nice and the surrounding area is astoundingly gorgeous. The petroglyphs are cool, but I didn’t like how they were taken from the ground and on display on the pier. Petroglyph Beach is a short walk from the city of Wrangell. Busses are usually available but not required. The beach is an historical site as there are numerous petroglyphs (rock carvings). These are NOT handicap accessible. The rocks are strewn about the beach and reaching them requires climbing over rough and slippery rocks. The carvings are roughly 6000 years old. There is a mystery to the carvings as they exhibit characters more commonly found in South American carvings. To better view the carvings, lightly sprinkle water over them. It is absolutely worth the effort to see these. Great views
